Abstract

The intersection of special needs education and climate change poses significant challenges, particularly in regions vulnerable to environmental disruptions. This thematic review employed the PRISMA method to systematically review 71 peer-reviewed articles examining the impacts of climate change on educational systems for students with disabilities. The review identified barriers including disruptions to routines, accessibility challenges, and reduced access to therapeutic services during climate-related disasters. It also highlighted adaptive strategies such as disaster-resilient educational frameworks and technology-supported inclusive learning. The study emphasizes the need for innovative policies and global collaboration to strengthen the resilience and inclusivity of special needs education systems.
