Abstract
This study proposes an intelligent Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) model to preserve Malaysian songket heritage by integrating Principal Component Analysis (PCA) with Quadratic Geometric Distance (QGD) and rotational invariance techniques. The model addresses challenges in recognizing songket motifs despite image rotation, improves retrieval accuracy, and supports digital preservation of cultural heritage through efficient indexing and retrieval of motif images.
