Abstract
The study examines communication between scammers and money mule victims, focusing on the platforms used, communication content, and duration of interactions. Based on comprehensive interviews with nine money mule victims, it identifies communication content involving loans, Bitcoin, trading, part-time jobs, SSM and online games; platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, SMS, telephone calls and face-to-face interaction; and communication periods ranging from days to months. The findings show that communication technologies can facilitate manipulation leading to financial losses, legal problems and emotional distress.
