Abstract

This study examines the relationship between ESG factors, firm characteristics, and financial performance among 96 firms listed on the FTSE4G Bursa Malaysia index from 2014 to 2022. Using panel regression analysis, financial performance is measured through Net Income Margin (NIM), Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Tobin's Q. The findings show a positive and significant relationship between ESG factors and Tobin's Q, indicating that investors increasingly recognize ESG as a determinant of corporate value. However, ESG factors have no significant impact on NIM, ROA, and ROE. The study highlights the importance of integrating ESG into corporate strategies to support long-term sustainable value creation.
