Halal compliance is a key element in ensuring the integrity of products and services used by the Muslim community. In the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, blockchain technology has emerged as one of the innovations with great potential in strengthening transparency, traceability and accountability in the halal supply chain. This article discusses how blockchain technology can be used as a halal compliance monitoring tool from a Sharia and technological perspective. This study also assesses the compatibility of blockchain principles with Sharia values such as trust, fairness and transparency, and examines the potential and challenges in its implementation in Malaysia.
